I am the owner and maker of all things Charleston Bee Works!

I started Charleston Bee Works in 2021, a year we were all thinking about indoor air quality. I wanted healthier options for burning candles inside our family home. I did some reading and taught myself to work with beeswax. Since then I have built a strong relationship with local beekeepers and am able to hand-make products with local beeswax from a family-owned Mountain State apiary.

A bit about me: I am Appalachian with a splash of bourbon. Raised in southeastern Kentucky, I received my higher education and did my second growing up in central Kentucky’s horse and bourbon country where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Transylvania University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Eastern Kentucky University. After a decade working in the non-profit and public sector I decided to be a fulltime mom. I now live in West Virginia’s capital city, where I am raising my own three busy bees with my wonderful husband. I love outdoor recreation and playing outside and I love to grow things, make things and bake things. I strive to provide a healthy home for my family and hope I can help you do the same.
