These are authentic bayberry candles, made from a blend of the waxen berries of the bayberry shrub and locally sourced pure beeswax. Two hand-poured taper candles measuring ~8 inches. All natural with a subtle, earthly scent. A highly treasured holiday candle in colonial America. In folk tradition the candles were burned on New Year’s Eve to ring in a year of good fortune.
Candles come with a card with the following poem.
“These bayberry candles are a gift from a friend,
On New Year’s Eve burn them down to the end.
A bayberry candle burned down to the socket
